Valentine’s Day in Centro Historico

We made another trek to Centro Historico, which by bus takes about 45 minutes. One of my favorite places there is a convent/museum Convento San Francisco. It is my favorite church that I’ve seen here so far. It is magnificent. There are paintings, sculptures, statues everywhere. It is completely covered in art work and it would take some time just looking at each individual piece. When you exit the church there are little shops at the bottom of the steps, and one of them tunnels underneath the church. The walls are covered with artwork and crafts for sale, all of which are representative of indigenous art. It is really cool and I wish I could buy it all.

Afterward we enjoyed one of our favorite things, fresh fruit juice.

Our favorites are mora (blackberry) and guanabana. It was a Valentines day well spent. 🙂
